In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 worship (God) for a few hours at night. 2 (a half of it, or diminish a little, 3 or a little more, but recite the Quran slowly and distinctly. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength. 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender - 9 And bear patiently the vain things they utter, and gracefully forsake them. 10 Leave those to Me who deny, the lovers of ease and comfort; and bear with them for a while. 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement. 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Lo! We have sent unto you a messenger as witness against you, even as We sent unto Pharaoh a messenger. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment. 16 How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
