Nay, by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except the people of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
