Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
