[Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, pay heed unto God and His Apostle, and do not turn away from Him now that you hear [His message]; 20 Be not as those who say, we hear, and they hear not. 21 ۞ For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb,- those who understand not. 22 If God had found any good in them, He would certainly have made them hear; but being as they are, even if He makes them hear, they will turn away in aversion. 23 O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and the messenger when He calleth you to that which quickeneth you, and know that Allah cometh in between the man and his own heart, and that He it is unto Whom ye will be gathered. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 Remember when you were few in number and were accounted weak in the land, ever fearing the onslaught of your enemies, but He provided you with shelter, and supported you with His help and provided you with good things, so that you might be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is a mighty reward. 28
