And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He can ruin them due to peoples’ sins and He can forgive a great deal. 34 And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment). 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
