The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
