The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
