The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Almighty God's Truth.
