They question you about the spirit. Say: 'The spirit is from the command of my Lord. Except for a little knowledge you have been given nothing' 85 And if We willed We could withdraw that which We have revealed unto thee, then wouldst thou find no guardian for thee against Us in respect thereof. 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: 'If men and jinn banded together to produce the like of this Koran, they would never produce its like, not though they backed one another.' 88 We have indeed turned about for men in this Koran every manner of similitude; yet most men refuse all but unbelief. 89 They say: 'We will not believe in you until you make a spring gush from the earth for us, 90 or, until you own a garden of palms and vines and cause rivers to gush forth with abundant water in them; 91 or thou cause the skies to fall down upon us in smithereens, as thou hast threatened, or [till] thou bring God and the angels face to face before us, 92 or till thou possessest a house of gold ornament, or till thou goest up into heaven; and we will not believe thy going up till thou bringest down on us a book that we may read. Say: 'Glory be to my Lord. Am I aught but a mortal, a Messenger?' 93
