And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 They used to say: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
