Whatever affliction may visit you is for what you own hands have earned; and He pardons much. 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - 33 Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. 34 And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 who, when they are attacked, defend themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
