The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
