The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
