Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
