Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas overflow; 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
