And those who disbelieved said to their apostles: We will most certainly drive you forth from our land, or else you shall come back into our religion. So their Lord revealed to them: Most certainly We will destroy the unjust. 13 And establish you in their place. This is for him who fears My station, and dreads My commination." 14 And they sought a decision, and every stubborn rebel was destroyed. 15 Hell is before him and he shall be given to drink of festering water: 16 he will sip and will not find it easy to swallow it. Death will approach him from every quarter, yet he will not die. More intense suffering will lie ahead of him. 17 The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error. 18 Do you not see that Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He please He will take you off and bring a new creation, 19 And this is not difficult for Allah. 20 When they will all appear before God together, the weak will say to those who were arrogant: "We were your followers, so can you now save us a little from God's punishment?" They will say: "If we had been guided by God we would surely have shown you the way. To lament or endure is all the same to us now. No getting away is there for us." 21
