The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
