The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
