Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
