A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 but he whose scales are light those have lost their souls because they were harmful towards Our verses. 9 It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! 10
