Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 that this is an honorable Quran 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? 87 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 88 it will have rest, happiness, and a beautiful Paradise. 89 And if he is of those on the right hand, 90 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. 91 And if he be of the beliers, the erring, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 and will be scorched by the Fire. 94 This is indeed the indubitable truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
