Nay, by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
