Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
