The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 For a mighty day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 It is a written book. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
