The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present. 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find you unaware of the Right Way, and then directed you to it? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
