Do you not see how those who dispute God's signs, are turned away from the right path -- 69 Those who gave the lie to this Book and all the Books which We had sent with Our Messengers shall soon come to know the Truth 70 When iron collars will be rounded over their necks, and the chains, they shall be dragged along. 71 into the boiling water and then are thrown into the Fire, 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance). 74 "This is so because you went about exulting wrongfully in the land," (will they be told), "and you were insolent. 75 Enter ye the gates of Hell as abiders therein. Hapless is the abode of the stiff-necked. 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 Before your time We sent other messengers: of them there are some whose story We have related to you, and some whose story We have not related to you. It was not [possible] for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of God: but when the command of God was issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice. There and then, those who stood on falsehoods perished. 78
