Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
