The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
