The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
