▼ 37 The Arrangers
Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
