The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Alif Lam Mim 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As for those who are bent on denying the truth, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and ears, and veiled their eyes. For them is great deprivation. 7
