By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
