۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me. 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
