The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
