And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
