Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
