The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
