Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters; 120 He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way. 121 We granted him virtue in this life and he shall be among the righteous ones in the life to come. 122 Afterwards We revealed unto thee: follow thou the faith of Ibrahim the upright; and he was not of the associaters. 123 The Sabbath was only made (strict) for those who disagreed (as to its observance); But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, as to their differences. 124 Call to the Path of your Lord with wisdom and fine admonition. Dispute with them in the best manner. Your Lord is well aware of those who have gone astray from His Path and He is well aware of those who are guided. 125 Hence, if you have to respond to an attack [in argument,] respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for [you, since God is with] those who are patient in adversity. 126 And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots. 127 For surely Allah is with those who hold Him in fear and do good. 128
