28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
