The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
