Al-A'alaa
The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion; 2 And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal), 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 then made it a blackening wrack. 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 We shall facilitate for you the Easy Way. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 He will be cast into the Great Fire. 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 Indeed successful is the one who became pure. 14 remembering his Lord's name and praying. 15 Nay, but you prefer the present life; 16 Whereas the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Verily this is in Writs ancient 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
