And mention Ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet. 41 He said to his father, "Why do you worship something that can neither hear nor see nor benefit you in any way? 42 Father, knowledge has come to me which has not come you, therefore, follow me. I will guide you to a Level Path. 43 “O my father, do not be a bondman of the devil; indeed the devil is disobedient towards the Most Gracious.” 44 Father, indeed I fear lest a punishment from the Gracious One afflict you, and you become a friend of Satan." 45 His father replied, "Abraham, are you telling me to give-up my gods? If you will not stop this, I shall stone you to death. Leave my house and do not come back again". 46 [Abraham] replied: "Peace be upon thee! I shall ask my Sustainer to forgive thee: for, behold, He has always been kind unto me. 47 "And I shall remain separated from you and all that you worship other than Allah and shall worship my Lord; possibly, by worshipping my Lord, I will not be amongst the unfortunate.” 48 So when he had separated from them and what they worshipped other than Allah, We bestowed him Ishaq and Yaqub; and We made each of them a Herald of the Hidden. 49 And bestowed on them some of Our blessings, and gave them high renown. 50
