The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, 5 very strong; he stood poised, 6 appearing in the horizon's loftiest part, 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 His heart lies not of what he saw; 11 what, will you dispute with him what he sees? 12 Indeed, he saw him another time 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 Near it is the Garden of Refuge - 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! 17 and he certainly saw some of the greatest Signs of His Lord. 18 So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath sent down no authority. They follow but their fancy, and that which pleaseth their souls; whereas assuredly there hath come unto them from their Lord the guidance. 23 Is the human to have whatever he fancies? 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
