The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The Hour is drawing near, and the moon is split (in two). 1 But if they [who reject all thought of the Last Hour] were to see a sign [of its approach,] they would turn aside and say: "An ever-recurring delusion!" 2 They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Quran), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)]. 3 there has come to them many a tiding wherein there are warnings, 4 Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail. 5 (Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment, 6 with down-cast eyes they shall go forth from their graves, as though they were scattered locusts. 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 which floated on the water before Our very eyes. The flood was a recompense for the deeds of the disbelievers. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster, 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
