Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 That He may forgive some of your sins and prolong your term till an appointed time. Surely when God's appointed time is come it will not be put off, if only you knew! 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 Then I called them openly, 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
