Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
