By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
