The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
