The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And those who recite the message, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
