The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
